V-mag: Why the name Africa?
Africa: When I became Africa, it was kind of a political thing. I was feeling like people didn't know that black women were attractive. They don't look at us that way. They take the worst-case scenario and let that represent all of us. But, at the same time, I was also thinking that white men really do fantasize about black women. That's when I started stripping.
V-mag: Do you like dancing?
Africa: As far as stripping in bars, I don't like it. Stripping at private parties and bachelor parties where they've called me and that's why I'm there, I love doing those.
V-mag: So the name Africa is to prove that black women can be sexy and beautiful at the same time?
Africa: And to affirm that I'm black and beautiful and proud.
V-mag: How old are you and what can you tell us about your big breasts?
Africa: Twenty-nine.
V-mag: Did you start out by dancing?
Africa: Yes. I was 19.
V-mag: So you started dancing right out of high school?
Africa: Actually, I had a job as a receptionist for a year right after high school before I started dancing in clubs.
V-mag: Where are you from?
Africa: Stockton, California.
V-mag: And how did you get into stripping? We hear Nadine Jansen had a simila
Africa: Well, after the receptionist thing didn't work, I had sort of a financial crisis. My electric was about to get turned off in my apartment and I had like one piece of cheese left in the refrigerator. I had nothing to eat and no real way of getting money. I saw several ads in the newspaper for dancers and I answered a few of them. One of them worked out. The first night I danced in a club, I wasn't old enough, and I snuck into the bar and pretended I was old enough.
V-mag: Were you nervous?
Africa: I was nervous up until I heard the cat calls from the crowd.
V-mag: There were cat calls right away, I'd imagine.
Africa: Oh, yeah.
V-mag: Did you like it?
Africa: Yes, very much. I liked being appreciated by men
